Amber’s Antibodies Directly Supports Clinical Trials

Amber's Antibodies' sole mission is to fight cancer. We do that by not only financially supporting Southwest Florida families experiencing cancer, but also donating to cancer research to help beat the disease for good. Recently, we've taken our mission a step further by helping cover the cost of our grant program recipient Zeke Newbery's clinical trial.

Texas Children's Hospital oversees Zeke's clinical trial, which is run by the National Cancer Institute. He began the trial in June 2018, and it's intended to run until June 2020.

"This trial has been an amazing blessing to Zeke. It has caused his tumor to remain the same size throughout his participation in the trial," Zeke's father, Derek Newberry, says.

Amber’s Antibodies recently began making a monthly donation to research based on the Cancer Awareness Calendar. We find a research organization conducting a trial for one of the cancers highlighted that month. In Zeke’s case and likely others going forward, we were able to contribute directly to the clinical trial one of our grant recipients is participating in!  In turn, we can share firsthand with donors, through our blog, how their generous funds are helping cancer patients improve as organizations inch closer to a cure.

"This trial has been a gift because traditional therapies were not proving successful in the fight against Zeke's brain tumor," Derek says. "Advances in medicine, like this trial, have allowed Zeke to live as a normal 8-year-old and fight against his cancer with hope."

We are so excited to continue supporting clinical cancer trials directly, but we need your help to make a greater impact.

"Your support to Amber's Antibodies makes it possible for Zeke and countless others to not only fight against cancer but thrive," Derek says.
